He never tried to vary people through any outer means. If the ideas he spoke and practiced were not sufficient to inspire them to the next way, then he knew there was nothing to do however wait until they were ready to change.
You can not reform anyone you know. Reformation is a waste of time, energy and speech. The additional you know a living presence of God in every man, the additional you permit each person to find his own revelation. The older churches have been pressurizing people into states of grace for ages. It’s never worked and it never will. You rise higher in life through your own choice. Preaching even this teaching to others is useless unless they raise for it with sincerity and simplicity. Most of the people you know want to carry on to their resentments in order to justify their own egos. Let them try this until they see the fallacy of it. Someday, somewhere, they can awaken to the actual fact that their job is to live in peace with themselves, which others cannot destroy this inner peace without their inviting them to do so.
